The Ford brand has been making exciting updates to its SUV lineup. The Ford Expedition underwent an innovative update this year, the Ford Escape and Ford Explorer will see big changes for the 2019 model year, and it looks like the popular Ford Bronco will be making its return!
We’re still waiting on specific details, but the Ford brand has been teasing out images and bits of information. As of now, the release date is set for 2020. The Ford brand did confirm that a hybrid version of the Ford Bronco will be offered and that the Ford Bronco will have major off-road capability. It will boast the latest in smart technology and “remain true to its rugged roots”.
There are rumors that the Ford Bronco will have a body-on-frame setup and that it will share the platforms and powertrains of the upcoming new Ford Ranger pickup. From the renderings, the body of the Ford Bronco looks boxy with a long squared-off hood and a rear-mounted external spare tire. It’s been hinted that the Ford Bronco will be offered in both two-door and four-door variants and that a smaller Ford Bronco sibling may be in development as well.
“Ford helped start the off-road phenomenon and has majored in off-road capability for decades—from the [Ford] Bronco to the [Ford] Raptor,” said Jim Farley, head of global markets. “Now, we’re ready to reclaim our rightful place as the off-road vehicle leader.”
At Dean Arbour Ford of Aplena, we can’t wait until the Ford Bronco makes its way to our Ford dealership near Rogers City, MI. We hope to have more information to share with you soon about the Ford Bronco and other new Ford vehicles!
