Tough, innovative, and maneuverable, the Ford Ranger is set to make its way back to America’s roads in 2019. At Dean Arbour Ford of Alpena, we were very excited to see the Ford brand announce at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that this midsize pickup is set to make its return. With a refreshed design, adventure-ready capability, and innovative technology, the Ford Ranger is the perfect addition to the Ford truck family.
The Ford Ranger has earned the Built Ford Tough badge—it has been torture-tested alongside the Ford F-150 trucks. The muscular body features a high-strength steel frame backbone and frame-mounted steel front and rear bumpers. Powering the Ford Ranger is the innovative 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine that is designed for efficiency and capability. What’s more, the engine is paired with the only 10-speed automatic transmission in the segment!
Part of the appeal of the Ford Ranger is its off-road capability. The FX4 Off-Road Package provides additional trail capability with off-road-tuned shocks, all-terrain tires, a frame-mounted heavy-gauge steel front bash plate, frame-mounted skid plates and FX4 badging.
While the Ford Ranger has plenty of off-road capability, the interior has been designed to blend comfort and functionality for day-to-day driving. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen for the available SYNC®3 system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, Ford+Alexa personal assistant functionality, and optional navigation.
“The [Ford] Ranger has always held a special place in the hearts of truck fans,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford executive vice president, Product Development and Purchasing. “The all-new [Ford] Ranger is designed for today’s midsize truck buyer, delivering even more utility, capability and technology for those who blend city living with more off-the-grid adventures on weekends.”
We can’t wait to see the Ford Ranger become one of the new Ford vehicles in our showroom in Alpena, MI next year!
